The Moonbuggy is a platform with four casters towed by a floor-mounted conveyor system.  Mounted on the platform are two custom air-over-oil operated hydraulic scissor lifts which tooling with wobble plates secured to them.  The plates permit the marriage of rear and front axles into vehicle bodies. 

The front and rear axles are loaded onto the lifts manually using overhead assist devices.  The axles travel around the system in the lowered position and come into a station where a synchronized overhead system brings in the vehicle body.  Operators then raise the lift to make contact with springs that compress 2" to 3" at which point the operator secures the axles to the vehicle.

The thirty-three moonbuggies travel in a closed loop system and are charged using an automatic charging system.
